Seasonal changes will often create changes for your body as well. You feel that your eyes start to itch and you have this
runny nose, you sneeze non-stop and eventually you feel that your skin develops certain rashes on some areas. The common reason behinds such occurrence is that you might be suffering from allergies. There are certain factors that make these allergies happen. It may be from the simplest reasons to the more mundane ones. Some of the most common causes for the allergies are the food you eat, smoking or smoke, medications, soaps, oils and many others. On the other hand, it might be that you will never actually figure out your allergies. It would also be wise to properly note when these allergies occur as there are allergies that happen during winter season and some during summer season or when there are certain changes in the climate.
What is Allergy?
Allergies are often seen as simple problems that may lead to a higher variety of problems on the body, which would all depend on the seriousness of the allergies that happen. Medically, the occurrence of the allergies is the overreaction of the human immune system in fighting off certain substances that have infiltrated the human immune system. Such substances and fine particles are not exactly harmful to the body but are seen as invading substances of the immune system. Most of the time, this would evolve to the chronic allergies that will become a huge inconvenience to the patient. These are caused by allergens. Listed below are some common indications of chronic allergies:
- Itchiness of the eyes
- Cramps, difficulty in breathing and giddiness
- Nasal blocking
- Dysentery, skin rashes and abdominal pains
- Vomiting
There are certain new studies that have resulted to show that these allergies and asthma are caused by deficient levels of Vitamin D in the body. For this reason, it is important that the patient should be able to eat foods that are rich in Vitamin D, which would usually include breakfast cereals, and other dairy products. This vital nutrient can also help the body in performing certain other functions such as bone health, preventing the occurrence of rickets and osteomalacia. These nutrients are most commonly found on food products of oily fish, cod liver oil, and egg yolks. In addition, the sunlight is also a good source of vitamin D nutrients.
On this reason alone, the lifestyle of the person is often a reason why they have deficiencies in this vitamin. Decreasing the exposure of young children to direct sunlight will often cause unhealthy repercussions on the health. The entertainment technologies such as televisions, video games, DVDs, and other techie items will limit the amount of time spent under the sun by the child or person for that matter. There are also studies that have shown that the use of sun block and lotions will also decrease the exposure of the body to the sun, thereby, affecting the persons’ ability to absorb the necessary Vitamin D nutrients.
Sunlight deficiency is particularly noted to be present for those people that live in countries that are farther away from the equator. Not only do they not have enough exposure to sunlight, but they are also poor in taking Vitamin D in their diets. For those that have winter months, people are more prone to take vitamin D supplements to support their regular diet as they lack sunlight. Further studies have also proven that pregnant women are more in need of the nutrient as the lack of it can affect the entire system. The lack of sufficient Vitamin D will lead to chronic diseases such as allergies and asthma attacks. Vitamin D is proven to reduce the occurrence of asthma by 40 percent in children that are in the age of three to five years. This is reasoned out because the lack of the nutrient lowers down the development of the lungs which may this more susceptible to infections.
Further research has proven that Western nations have residents that are more affected with the asthma allergies because of the limited resources of sunlight and Vitamin D. In short, the lack of necessary vitamin D will cause the person to have constant attacks due to weak lungs. To have the right supplements in the body especially during pregnancy will help develop the fetus.
